Want to understand more about local policing issues and help set priorities? Why not come along to one of the 'Ward Panel Meetings' locally, where the community and local Police team discuss emerging issues and community safety.
The next meeting will be held on Tuesday 20th May at Latymer Upper School from 6-8pm. All are welcome.
'Our' ward is Ravenscourt and the meeting also includes residents and police from Grove Park and Wendell Park.
At the previous meeting (21st Feb 2025) key points included:
Latest year on year crime stats for H&F borough.
· Total crime to end Jan -4%
· Theft from motor vehicles -40%
· House burglary -5%
· Violence with injury -16%
Overall priorities for the year ahead
· Increase the detection rate (number of crimes resolved)
· Increase number of arrests
· Drive down robbery levels
· Work with young people aged 13-22 years
· Develop drugs strategy to target key offenders
Three major incidents were discussed which involved a stabbing, knife crime and a murder. In each case these were isolated incidents with the individuals known to one another. Charges have been brought in each case.
The importance of reporting crime was again emphasised as this allows the police to gather intelligence on crime types and trends. The most efficient reporting methods are
(A) In an emergency or if a crime is in progress dial 999.
(B) Report on the police web site - www.met.police.uk
(C) If you have video footage of a crime please contact the police who will provide you with a link to upload the video.
(D) Only call 101 if you don’t have online access
(E) Whilst you can email, this won’t be picked up as quickly as reporting via www.met.police.uk
